About Mitsuyo Nemoto
Mitsuyo Nemoto, born on March 9, 1958 in Japan, is a pop singer known for her time as part of the influential J-pop duo Pink Lady during the late 1970s and early 1980s. Notably, she became only the second Japanese artist to achieve a single on the Billboard Top 40. Following her success with Pink Lady, she pursued a solo career and released songs such as “Never,” while also appearing in television series like The Kindergarten Detective.
Prior to her rise to fame, Nemoto gained public attention as a contestant on Star Tanjo! – Japan’s equivalent of Star Search – in 1976. In addition to her music career, she has been involved with the novelty band Animetal, specializing in metal covers of popular Japanese television show songs.
Notably, Nemoto was married to Junzo Tsukuda from 1998 to 2004.
