About Minzy
Minzy, born Gong Minji on January 18, 1994 in Seoul, South Korea, is a pop singer who gained prominence as a member of the K-pop group 2NE1 alongside Sandara Park, CL and Park Bom. In addition to her musical career, she has also ventured into acting with roles in films such as Girlfriends (2009) and TV series like Mamma Mia and Sister’s Slam Dunk. Notably, she released a music video for her song “Fantabulous” in 2022.
She made her debut with YG Entertainment alongside fellow members Sandara Park, CL, and Park Bom before branching out into solo projects. A noteworthy achievement includes singing the duet “Please Don’t Go” with CL which peaked at #6 on the November 2009 Gaon Chart. Not limited to her native South Korea, Minzy also made a debut in the Philippines by releasing a Tagalog version of her single “Lovely” in 2020.
Minzy was born and raised in Seoul alongside a sister.
