Mimie Mathy, born on July 8, 1957 in Lyon, France, is a television actress and comedian. She is best known for her role as the title character in the long-running series Josephine, ange gardien. Additionally, she has gained recognition for her one-woman shows including J’adore Papoter Avec Vous and Mimie au Splendid.
Prior to her fame, Mathy began studying drama in 1979 after having a strong interest in theater throughout her childhood. She honed her skills by participating in workshops before making appearances at Le Petit Theatre de Bouvard.
In 2005 she met chef Benoist Gerard when he was selected from the audience during one of her shows. The couple got married soon after they first met.
