About Mimi Knoop
Mimi Knoop, born on September 25, 1978, in Chesapeake, Virginia, is a renowned skateboarder known for her impressive career and contributions to the sport. Turning pro in 2003, she has secured 5 X Games medals throughout her career. In addition to her skateboarding achievements, Knoop founded the Women’s Skateboarding Alliance and Hoopla Skateboards with the aim of promoting skateboarding among young girls.
Prior to gaining recognition as a professional skateboarder, Knoop had been skating on and off for most of her life but did not start skating in bowls and halfpipes until she was 24 years old. She is also a talented multimedia artist who created the name and logo for the Girls Combi Pool Classic contest hosted by Vans.
Originally from Chesapeake, Virginia, Mimi later moved to Cardiff, California where she continues to leave her mark on the world of skateboarding.
