About Melissa Bishop
Melissa Bishop, born on August 5, 1988 in Canada, is a Canadian middle distance runner known for setting the national record in the 800 meter event with a time of 1:57.43. She achieved silver at the 2015 IAAF World Championships in Athletics and has represented Canada at the Summer Olympics in both 2012 and 2016.
Bishop grew up near Lake Dore in Ontario, Canada and later graduated from the University of Windsor. Her World Championship medal marked a historic achievement as it was the first ever won by a Canadian woman in the 800 meters event. Melissa’s parents are Alison and Doug Bishop.
