Melina Rai is an Indian singer based in Nepal, known for her contributions to world music. She was born on December 7, 1993, in Darjeeling, India.
Rai gained popularity with songs like “Kammar Mathi Patuki”, “Timro Maan Ma” and “Thamel Bazarma”. Her debut album, Bahar, was released in 2014.
Before pursuing a career in music, she earned a bachelor’s degree in psychology from Tribhuvan University. In 2016, she received the Best Playback Singer award from Kantipur FM.
Rai comes from a musical background; her father is the composer Jibes Rai.
