About Megan McDonald
Megan McDonald is a renowned children’s author best known for creating the popular Judy Moody book series. Born on February 28, 1959, in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania, she pursued her education at Oberlin College and later obtained her Master’s of Library Science from the University of Pittsburgh.
Prior to achieving literary success, McDonald worked as a librarian at the Minneapolis Public Library. Her career took off with the publication of her first book, and she went on to write multiple novels in the American Girls and Sisters Club series.
In addition to Judy Moody, she also created the Stink books based on the adventures of Judy Moody’s little brother. Megan McDonald married Richard Haynes in September 1994 and settled in Sebastopol, California alongside her four sisters.
