About Meg Wolitzer
Meg Wolitzer, born on May 28, 1959 in New York, is an American author and professor known for her novels such as The Wife, The Ten-Year Nap, and The Uncoupling. Additionally, she has written two young adult novels: The Fingertips of Duncan Dorfman and Caribou.
Wolitzer received a degree from Brown University in the early 1980s before embarking on a career as a teacher. She taught creative writing classes at the University of Iowa’s famed Writers’ Workshop, Skidmore College, and Stony Brook Southampton.
In a unique milestone for an author’s work being discussed remotely by readers across different locations simultaneously; Wolitzer’s novel The Uncoupling was the subject of discussion during the first coast-to-coast book club meeting conducted via Skype.
She was born to author Hilma Wolitzer in New York and has been married to Richard Panek with whom she shares two sons.
