About Mayra Aguiar
Mayra Aguiar, born on August 3, 1991, in Porto Alegre, Brazil, is a Brazilian martial artist known for her achievements in judo. Aguiar has represented clubs such as Sogipa and the Brazilian Judo Confederation in various international competitions including the Pan American Games and multiple Olympic Games.
Aguiar began her judo training as a young girl under the guidance of Kiko at Sogipa. Her early success came when she won a silver medal at the 2007 Pan American Games at the age of 16. She then went on to compete in her first Olympic Games in Beijing in 2008.
In 2016, Aguiar achieved a significant milestone by winning the bronze medal at the Olympic Games. Additionally, she secured a gold medal at the Pan American Championships in 2010 competing in Half-Heavyweight division.
Born and raised in Porto Alegre, Brazil, Mayra Aguiar has made significant contributions to Brazilian judo and continues to be an influential figure within the sport.
