About Maya Weug
Maya Weug (born June 1, 2004) is a professional race car driver hailing from Alicante, Spain. She is known for competing in the Italian F4 Championship for Iron Lynx and holds the distinction of being the first female driver to have joined the Ferrari Driver Academy. Weug started her career in kart racing at just 7 years old before making her international karting debut in 2016.
In 2021, she made her Italian F4 debut for Iron Lynx Motorsport Lab and later that year was selected to participate in a one-day FIA Formula 3 test at Magny-Cours. Additionally, Weug has amassed a following of over 20,000 on Instagram.
Born in Alicante to parents of Dutch and Belgian descent, Maya’s achievements mark an important milestone for women in motorsports worldwide.
