About Masako Nozawa
Masako Nozawa, born on October 25, 1936 in Japan, is a renowned Japanese voice actress best known for her iconic portrayal of the character Son Goku in the widely popular Dragon Ball anime series. In addition to her work on Dragon Ball, she has also made significant contributions to other animated shows such as GeGeGe no Kitaro and Galaxy Express 999.
Nozawa began her career at the young age of three by appearing in a film before eventually transitioning to voice acting nearly three decades later. She started off by lending her talents to iconic anime series from the 1960s, including Astro Boy and Sally the Witch.
Notably, throughout much of her early career, she predominantly voiced male characters which led to fans affectionately dubbing her “The Eternal Boy.”
In terms of personal life, Nozawa was married to fellow voice actor Masaaki Tsukada until his passing in early 2014.
