Marion Leonard (June 9, 1881 – January 9, 1956) was an American stage and screen actress who rose to fame during the silent film era. Born in Ohio, Leonard began her career as a stage actress before signing with the American Mutoscope and Biograph Company at the age of 27.
Leonard’s most notable role was in the 1910 film “In Old California,” which holds historical significance as the first movie to be filmed in Hollywood, California. She also appeared in films such as “The Gibson Goddess” during her career.
Apart from acting, Leonard married writer and director Stanner E.V. Taylor and together they founded their own production company.
Marion Leonard made significant contributions to early cinema and is remembered as one of the pioneering celebrities of silent films.
