About Maria Barracuda
Maria Barracuda is a Mexican pop singer born on April 3, 1978 in Mexico City. She is best known as the vocalist for the band Jot Dog and released her debut solo album after signing to Sony Music in 2004. By the end of that year, she was named Best New Artist at the MTV Video Music Awards Latin America. Barracuda formed Jot Dog with her friend and producer Jorge Amaro in 2009.
Before rising to fame, Barracuda was raised with a deep love of music. She first signed a contract with Latin World in 2000 and recorded an album that achieved little success.
With Jot Dog, she has received several accolades including Best New Artist at the Hey! Awards and Newcomer at The Telehit Awards in 2010.
Though born in Mexico City, Maria grew up in Juarez, Chihuahua.
