Marguerite Clark was a movie actress born on February 22, 1883, in Cincinnati, Ohio. Known for her trim figure and youthful air, she often competed with Mary Pickford for child roles despite both women being well into their 30s. Notably, she starred in the 1916 version of Snow White, which left a lasting impression on Walt Disney and inspired him to produce his first feature cartoon based on the story.
Prior to her film career, Clark gained popularity as an actress in Broadway productions such as Mr. Pickwick due to her charming youthful demeanor. She made her transition to silent films in 1914 and later had a leading role in the 1919 film A Girl Named Mary.
In 1918, Marguerite Clark married Harry Palmerson Williams. A year after their marriage and upon the expiration of her contract, she chose to retire from show business.
