About Margarita Simonyan
Margarita Simonyan, born on April 16, 1980 in Krasnodar, Russia, is a professional journalist who has served as the editor-in-chief of both RT news network and the international news agency Rossiya Segodnya. She was also the first Vice-President of the Russian National Association of TV and Radio Broadcasters. Simonyan studied journalism at Kuban State University before achieving her career success. Notably, she was awarded the Movses Khorenatsi medal in 2010 and an Order for Merit to the Fatherland in 2014.
Simonyan comes from an Armenian family background and married film director Tigran Keosayan in 2014. The couple has two children: daughter Mariana and son Bagrat.
