About Manuela d’Avila
Manuela d’Avila is a Brazilian politician and journalist born on August 18, 1981 in Porto Alegre, Brazil. She first gained fame as the youngest city councilor in the history of Porto Alegre and went on to be elected state deputy in 2014. She was named the pre-candidate for the Communist Party for the 2018 presidential election.
Before beginning her political career, d’Avila was a member of the student movement before joining the communist party. She served as federal deputy from Rio Grande do Sul from 2007 to 2015.
In 2012, she married her husband Duca with whom she has one child named Laura.
