About Majlinda Kelmendi
Majlinda Kelmendi is a Kosovar judoka who achieved top-ranked status in the 52 kilogram weight class in 2013. Born on May 9, 1991, in Peje, Kosovo, she began practicing judo at the age of eight.
In 2014, Kelmendi made history by becoming the first judoka from Kosovo to win a World Championship. The following year, she clinched gold at both the European Judo Championships and World Judo Championships.
Her mother’s name is Fikrete and her father’s name is Ismet.
