Madge Blake (May 31, 1899 – February 19, 1969) was an American television actress known for her various roles. She is best remembered for portraying Margaret Mondello on the popular series “Leave it to Beaver” and Aunt Harriet on “Batman.”
Prior to entering acting, Blake and her husband were involved in the construction of detonators for atomic bombs.
In a notable incident, she faced the risk of being fired from “Batman,” but co-star Adam West spoke up in her defense. In gratitude, she baked him a cake as thanks.
Her father held strict Methodist beliefs and opposed her pursuit of an acting career.
