Lynda Benglis, born on October 25, 1941, in Louisiana, is an American sculptor known for her pioneering work in wax paintings and poured latex sculptures. Her art explores themes of female identity and self-representation.
Before gaining recognition as a sculptor, Benglis earned a BFA from Newcomb College before relocating to New York City in 1964.
