About Lydia Lassila
Lydia Lassila is an Australian freestyle skier, born on January 17, 1982. She achieved her first Olympic gold medal in the aerials event at the Vancouver Olympics in 2010. This accomplishment led to her receiving The Don Award from the Sport Australia Hall of Fame.
Prior to her skiing career, Lydia earned a Bachelor’s degree from RMIT University. In recognition of her outstanding performance, she was named Australian Athlete of the Year in 2010.
Aside from her athletic endeavors, she also has a fulfilling family life and is a mother to a son named Kai Lassila.
