About Lucy Speed
Lucy Speed, born on August 31, 1976 in Croydon, England, is a British soap opera actress. She is best known for her recurring roles in popular English shows such as EastEnders, The Bill, Cradle to Grave and Rides. Additionally, she made an appearance in the Academy Award-winning film Shakespeare in Love (1998).
Speed’s career began at a young age when her ballet teacher identified her talent and advised her parents to seek out an agent. This led to modeling and stage appearances at the London National Theater.
Besides television work, Speed has been active in theatre and appeared in numerous plays including Soap – a comedic parody of soap operas featuring fellow soap actor Marc Bannerman.
She was born to Sue and Sid Speed as their second child with an older brother named Dan. In 2009, she married fellow actor Spencer Hayler with whom she welcomed their daughter Kitty Bina Grace Hayler in May 2012.
