About Lotte Lenya
Lotte Lenya was an Austrian movie actress, born on October 18, 1898 in Vienna. She is primarily known for her role in The Threepenny Opera, which was directed by her husband at the time, Kurt Weill. Lenya gained further recognition with an Academy Award-nominated performance in The Roman Spring of Mrs. Stone.
Prior to her breakthrough role as Jenny in The Threepenny Opera, Lotte Lenya acted in small theater productions. In addition to her notable film roles, she also played Rosa Klebb in the James Bond movie From Russia With Love.
Lenya married Kurt Weill in 1926 and divorced him in 1933; however they remarried four years later.
