About Lisa Morton
Lisa Morton is a California-born non-fiction author and screenwriter known for her works such as The Castle of Los Angeles (2010 novel), The Halloween Encyclopedia (2003 non-fiction work), and The Lucid Dreaming (2009 novella). She was born on December 11, 1958, in California. In 2006, her short story “Tested” received the Bram Stoker Award for Short Fiction. Before gaining recognition as an author, she began her career in the film industry in Los Angeles during the late 1970s. Her first horror-genre short stories were published in the mid-1990s.
Morton has been honored with the Horror Writers Association’s President’s Richard Laymon Award for two consecutive years and grew up in Pasadena, California.
