Linda Womack, born on April 25, 1953 in the United States, is a pop singer and songwriter. She is known for being one half of the duo Womack & Womack with her husband Cecil Womack. Their 1988 single “Teardrops” was a worldwide hit.
Womack began her songwriting career at the young age of 11, composing “I Need A Woman” in 1964. Aside from her own music career, she has also written hits for other artists including “Love Bankrupt” released by Patti LaBelle and “New Day” released by George Benson.
She comes from a family rich in musical talent; her parents were renowned singer Sam Cooke and Barbara Campbell. Additionally, Linda is a mother to seven children.
