About Linda Gregg
Linda Gregg was an American poet, born on September 9, 1942, in New York. She is best known for her works including Things and Flesh, The Sacraments of Desire, and All of It Singing. Throughout her career, she received several literary honors such as the Whiting Writers’ Award, the Guggenheim Fellowship, and multiple Pushcart Prizes.
She earned her undergraduate and graduate degrees from San Francisco State College before embarking on a career in creative writing. Gregg went on to teach this subject at esteemed institutions such as the University of Iowa, Columbia University, and Princeton University.
Her personal life included a marriage with fellow author and professor John Brentlinger which later ended in divorce. Before this union took place, she had a romantic relationship with poet Jack Gilbert.
