About Lillian Disney
Lillian Disney (born February 15, 1899) was an illustrator and the wife of Walt Disney. She was credited with naming the famous Mickey Mouse character and played a significant role in her husband’s career. Lillian grew up on the Nez Perce Indian Reservation before meeting Walt Disney and adapting to the Hollywood lifestyle.
After Walt Disney passed away in 1966, she remarried John L. Truyens and had two daughters, Diane and Sharon. In 2003, she was posthumously named a Disney Legend for her contributions to The Walt Disney Company.
