Leslye Headland is an American director, screenwriter, playwright, and producer. She gained recognition for her work on the films Bachelorette and Sleeping with Other People. Her body of work often explores themes of cultural vandalism and addiction.
In 2010, she began her television career as a staff writer on the FX series Terriers. Following that, she wrote and directed the 2012 film adaptation of her play Bachelorette, serving as her debut as a feature film director.
Headland’s interest in filmmaking was sparked by Alfred Hitchcock’s film Rear Window which she cites as a major influence on her creative journey. She executively produced the TV show Single Drunk Female.
She hails from Maryland and married actress Rebecca Henderson in 2016.
