About Leila Mckinnon
Leila Mckinnon is a journalist and television presenter known for her work on the Nine News Morning Edition and as co-host of Weekend Today. She was born in Iran on September 28, 1972, but grew up in Brisbane, Australia. Mckinnon began her journalism career working part-time as a reporter for The Sunday Telegraph in Brisbane before earning her degree from Queensland University of Technology.
In 2008, she joined Nine News Morning Edition and gained recognition for her work. Mckinnon also hosted the program Weekend Sunrise. She is noted for co-hosting Nine’s Award-Winning coverage of the London Olympic Games, where she conducted live interviews with Prince William and Prince Harry.
Mckinnon married David Gyngell and they have two children.
