Leanza Cornett was a notable TV personality and pageant contestant, born on June 10, 1971 in Virginia. She achieved recognition by winning the titles of Miss Florida in 1992 and Miss America in 1993. Following her pageantry success, she went on to host Entertainment Tonight from 1994-1995 and made guest appearances on shows such as Fear Factor, CSI: Crime Scene Investigation, and Saved by the Bell.
Before rising to fame, Cornett graduated from high school in 1989 and was named Miss National Sweetheart in 1991. In addition to her television roles, she also became the first actress to portray Ariel in the live version of The Little Mermaid at Walt Disney World in 1991. Her theatrical credits included performances in productions like Barefoot in the Park, Godspell, and Bye Bye Birdie.
Cornett’s personal life included marriage to Mark Steines with whom she had two sons named Kai and Avery. Tragically, Leanza Cornett passed away due to complications from a head injury sustained after a fall at her home in October of 2020.
