Laxmi Agarwal, born on June 1, 1990 in New Delhi, India, is a television personality and activist best known for her appearance on the 2014 documentary series Satyamev Jayate. In that same year, she was also featured in the short-form documentary titled Newborns.
Before gaining fame through her activism work and media appearances, Laxmi survived a traumatic experience at the age of 16 when she became the victim of an acid attack by a man whose romantic advances she had rejected.
In addition to her advocacy efforts and media engagements, Laxmi has also served as the director of Chhanv Foundation, a non-governmental organization. Born and raised in New Delhi, Laxmi continues to be an influential figure both in India and internationally.
