Laurie Beechman was an American stage actress known for her performances in several Broadway productions. Born on April 14, 1953, in Pennsylvania, Beechman received critical acclaim for her roles in musicals such as Annie, Les Miserables, and Cats.
Her portrayal of the narrator in Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat earned her a Tony nomination in 1982. Although she briefly attended New York University, she quickly made her Way to Broadway where she debuted in the production of Annie.
Regrettably, Laurie Beechman passed away at the age of forty-four after battling cancer. Just six years prior to her passing, she had married Neil Mazzella. In honor of her legacy as a performer, a theater on 42nd Street in New York City was named after her.
