Lauren Wasser (born March 2, 1988) is a California-born model known for her work on the runway and in editorial spreads. Her life took a drastic turn when she was diagnosed with Toxic Shock Syndrome after using Kotex Natural Balance tampons, an illness which resulted in the amputation of her right leg.
Prior to her modeling career, Wasser was offered a Division I school basketball scholarship but chose to pursue modeling instead. She gained widespread attention after making her New York Fashion Week debut with a prosthetic leg.
