About Lauren Steadman
Lauren Steadman is a Paralympic athlete born on December 18, 1992, in Peterborough, England. She has risen to fame competing at the Summer Paralympics in both the paratriathlon and swimming events. In 2016, she earned a silver medal at the Rio Paralympic Games and won gold at the 2009 World Para Swimming Championships in the 4×100 swim relay.
Steadman found her love for swimming at age 4 and went on to earn her bachelor’s degree in psychology before completing a master’s in business from the University of Portsmouth. Notably, she earned her 20th career first-place finish at the 2018 Eton Dorney ITU Paratriathlon World Cup Series tournament.
Her uncle played an influential role in suggesting she train for the paratriathlon after recognizing her potential in swimming, biking, and running.
