About Laura Ziskin
Laura Ziskin was a renowned film producer known for her work on films such as Pretty Woman, What About Bob?, and Spider-Man. She was born on March 3, 1950 in California and went on to become the first woman to produce the Academy Awards telecast in 2002 and 2007. Prior to her fame, she worked as a personal assistant for film producer Jon Peters after graduating from the University of Southern California.
She was married to screenwriter Alvin Sargent until her passing from cancer in 2011 and had a daughter named Julia from an earlier marriage to playwright and screenwriter Julian Barry.
