About Katya Virshilas
Katya Virshilas is a Lithuanian dancer known for her appearances on seasons seven, eight, and nine of the show Strictly Come Dancing. She also helped choreograph parts of seasons one and two of So You Think You Can Dance. Born on September 10th, 1983 in Lithuania, she moved from Lithuania to Israel before ultimately settling in Vancouver, Canada.
Virshilas was a successful dancer in her youth, winning four Vancouver British Columbia Dancesport Championships from 1998 to 2002. In addition to her dance career, she has made various appearances onscreen including roles in the movies Shall We Dance? and John Tucker Must Die.
In 2012, she married dancer Klaus Kongsdal and together they welcomed their first child in 2016.
