Kathryn Kates (born September 15, 1948) is an American television actress from New York City, New York. She is known for her appearances on popular TV shows such as Seinfeld, Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, and Orange Is the New Black. Her final film role was in the HBO movie The Many Saints of Newark as Angie DeCarlo.
Prior to her acting career, Kates’ mother Madlyn Cates was also an actress. Additionally, she was one of 25 actors who founded the Colony Theater in Los Angeles.
Kates married Steven Lebetkin in 2016.
