About Kathleen Widdoes
Kathleen Widdoes (born March 21, 1939) is an American soap opera actress. She is best known for her role as Emma Snyder on As the World Turns, a character she played from 1985 until the show’s end in 2010. Widdoes also made appearances on other popular soap operas such as Another World and Ryan’s Hope.
Before her soap opera success, Widdoes moved from Delaware to New York City to pursue her acting career. She later attended Sorbonne in Paris under a Fulbright scholarship.
In addition to her television work, Widdoes has had success on stage and was nominated for a Tony Award for Best Actress in a Play in 1973 for her performance as Beatrice in Much Ado About Nothing.
Widdoes’ personal life includes being married to actor Richard Jordan from 1964-1972.
