Kate Mosse (born October 20, 1961) is a British novelist known for her 2005 novel Labyrinth, which was the first book in the Languedoc Trilogy. She is also the founder and director of the Women’s Prize for Fiction and the founder of Women in History. With over 60,000 followers on Twitter, she has established herself as a popular figure in literary circles.
Prior to her success as a novelist, Mosse began her career in publishing before transitioning to writing. She wrote her first non-fiction book Becoming a Mother in 1992.
Besides being an accomplished novelist, she has also ventured into plays and non-fiction works. Additionally, Mosse has worked as a broadcast journalist.
In recognition of her contributions to literature, Kate Mosse was awarded the Quill Award and the British Book Awards for Best Read for Labyrinth in 2006. In addition, she received Officer of the Order of the British Empire honors in 2013.
She comes from a close-knit family; born to Richard and Barbara Mosse, she is the eldest of three sisters. Kate is married to Greg Mosse and they have two children.
