About Kate Lynch
Kate Lynch is a Canadian movie actress, born on June 29, 1959. She gained recognition by winning a Genie Award in 1980 for her role as Roxanne in the comedy film Meatballs. This success led to appearances in other films such as Soup for One and Def-Con 4. In addition to her work on screen, Lynch has also made significant contributions as a stage actress, director, and playwright with notable involvement at Canada’s Theatre Passe Muraille and Blyth and Shaw theater festivals.
Prior to her fame, she appeared in episodes of Custard Pie and For the Record early in her career. Notably, she acted alongside young Bill Murray in Meatballs which helped launch both their careers into stardom under the direction of Ivan Reitman.
Aside from acting, Lynch devoted time to teaching drama at various Ontario universities including George Brown College, Ryerson University, and University College Toronto.
