Karina Smirnoff is a Ukrainian-born professional ballroom dancer, known for her victory in the 13th season of Dancing with the Stars alongside J.R. Martinez.
She was born on January 2, 1978 in Kharkiv, Ukraine and began practicing ballet at the age of five. She also developed skills in gymnastics, aerobics, figure skating, and piano.
In addition to her success on Dancing with the Stars, she has appeared in the May 2011 issue of Playboy magazine.
