About Kara Lang
Kara Lang is a Canadian soccer player born on October 22, 1986. She hails from Calgary, Alberta and grew up in Oakville, Ontario. At the age of 15, she made history by becoming the youngest woman ever to be named to Canada’s national women’s team.
During her career, Lang represented Canada at the FIFA Women’s World Cup in 2003, 2007 and 2011. In addition to her international success, she also won accolades such as the Cyprus Women’s Cup and CONCACAF Women’s Cup in 2010. Following her retirement from professional soccer in 2011, Lang transitioned into a role as an analyst for Rogers Sportsnet.
In a bid to aid Canada’s quest during the 2015 FIFA Women’s World Cup, Lang attempted a comeback but had to halt it after discovering that she was pregnant with her first child.
In her personal life, Kara Lang got engaged to professional baseball player Ricky Romero in 2015 before tying the knot with him. The couple now has a son together.
