About Kara Kennedy
Kara Kennedy was born on February 27, 1960, in New York. She was the niece of United States President John F. Kennedy and Senator Robert F. Kennedy and the oldest child of Senator Ted Kennedy and Joan Bennett Kennedy.
After graduating from Tufts University, Kara worked for Fox News in New York before becoming a producer for Boston WBZ-TV’s Evening Magazine program.
In addition to her work in media production, Kara also dedicated herself to philanthropy, producing films for her aunt Jean Kennedy Smith’s Very Special Arts (VSA) organization.
In 1990, she married architect Michael Allen with whom she had two children named Grace and Max. Sadly, Kara passed away from a heart attack in 2011 after battling lung cancer.
