She gained recognition for her original illustrations in the popular October 2018 children’s book Dr. Jo: How Sara Josephine Baker Saved the Lives of America’s Children.
Swaney was homeschooled and later graduated with a degree in printmaking from the Maine College of Art in 2005. She has garnered a substantial following on her eponymous Instagram account, where she shares her artwork and boasts over 50,000 followers.
