Jouelzy, born on March 25, 1985 in the United States, is a notable YouTube vlogger with an eponymous channel. She is widely recognized for her empowering content focused on black women and black Americans. In addition to her YouTube presence, Jouelzy has also founded and written for the website SmartBrownGirl, delivering lifestyle posts intended to further empower black girls and women.
Before gaining fame through her online platform, Jouelzy grew up in New Castle, Delaware and obtained a bachelor’s degree in sociology. Notably, she interned with Kanye West’s GOOD music label when it was affiliated with Sony Music. She launched her YouTube channel on April 10, 2010 and uploaded her first video there on October 30 of the same year.
