About Josie Long
Josie Long, born on April 17, 1982 in London, England, is a British comedian known for winning the Best Newcomer award at the 2006 Edinburgh Festival Fringe for her show Kindness and Exuberance. She has a significant following on social media with 10,000 Facebook followers, 130,000 Twitter followers, and 20,000 Instagram followers.
Long’s career in comedy began at a young age when she started doing stand-up at 14. Her talent was recognized early when she won the BBC New Comedy Awards at just 17. While pursuing her degree in English at Lady Margaret Hall of University of Oxford, she took a hiatus from stand-up but continued to be involved in experimental comedy clubs as well as running them.
In addition to her work within the comedy industry, Long discovered she had ADHD after being inspired by cartoons shared by a friend on Instagram. Furthermore,she co-founded Arts Emergency – an education charity aimed towards helping students who want to pursue arts degrees.
She shares two children with fellow comedian Jonny Donahue.
