About Josephine Pinckney
Josephine Pinckney (January 25, 1895 – April 3, 1957) was an American novelist and poet best known for her novel “Three O’clock Dinner”. Born in Puerto Rico, she was raised by her parents Thomas Pinkney and Camilla Scott.
Before gaining fame as a novelist, Pinckney attended the Ashley Hall School and established her own literary magazine there. She went on to receive the Southern Authors Award in 1946 for her contributions to literature.
