Joke Silva (born September 29, 1961) is a Nigerian actress, director, and businesswoman known for her work in film and television. Born in Lagos, Nigeria, she graduated from the University of Lagos with a degree in English before studying drama at the Webber Douglas Academy of Dramatic Arts in London.
Silva made her acting debut in the early 1990s and gained recognition for her roles in films such as “30 Days”, “The Amazing Grace”, and “White Waters”. She also received honors as a Member of the Order of the Federal Republic.
In 2006, she achieved significant acclaim for her performance in “The Secret Laughter of Women”. Her advocacy work against human trafficking led to her appointment as a Goodwill Ambassador for the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime in October 2012.
Silva is married to actor Olu Jacobs, and they have two children together.
