Joice Cristina Hasselmann (born January 29, 1978) is a Brazilian politician, journalist, writer, activist, and political commentator. She has amassed a substantial following on social media with 390,000 followers on Twitter, 600,000 on Instagram, and 1.8 million on Facebook.
After completing her secondary education, Hasselmann initially pursued a career in medicine by taking the medical college entrance exam for neurology. However, her experience as a TV presenter in her hometown prompted her to shift gears and study journalism at the State University of Ponta Grossa.
In the 2018 House of Representatives election in Brazil, she made history by securing an impressive 1,078,666 votes – becoming the most voted-for woman ever in this position.
Hasselmann was born in Ponta Grossa within the State of Parana and spent her youth living across various Brazilian states. She is married to neurosurgeon Daniel Franca since 2016 and together they have a daughter.
