About Johana Amaya
Johana Amaya (born August 4, 1981) is a Colombian journalist and television presenter known for her work as the host of the RCN News Broadcast. She gained recognition for her role as a presenter on the Channel One program Seguridad al Dia in 2004.
Amaya studied Social Communication and Journalism at the Universidad Autonoma de Occidente before beginning her career as a presenter and reporter for Telepacifico’s 90 Minute newscast in 2002. After various reporting roles, she joined RCN Television in 2006.
Aside from her journalism work, Amaya shares behind-the-scenes shots from newscasting, photographs with celebrities, and travel content on her popular Instagram account where she has amassed over 100,000 followers.
She was born and raised in Cali, Colombia
