Jodi Benson (born October 10, 1961) is an American voice actress and singer. She was born in Rockford, Illinois. Benson is best known for her iconic portrayal of Ariel in The Little Mermaid films and has also contributed to the soundtracks for The Little Mermaid and Thumbelina.
At the age of 23, she landed her first voice acting role, marking the beginning of a successful career in the industry. In addition to her work as Ariel, Benson voiced Barbie in both Toy Story 2 (1999) and Toy Story 3 (2010).
Benson is married to Ray Benson. Together they have a son named McKinley and a daughter named Delaney.
